Mr. Wellington is not just a supervisor, but also a true mentor whom I have known for quite some time. Back when I was a GIS intern at the Municipality of Chinhoyi, he guided me with his wisdom. Alongside his wonderful wife, they would treat us to delightful lunches, creating a warm and enjoyable atmosphere for us as his students.

During that time, his wife was expecting, filled with hope for a bright future. We would often accompany Mr. Wellington to the hospital during visiting hours, but unfortunately, the strict restrictions due to the high prevalence of COVID-19 prevented us from entering. Little did we know the tragedy that awaited?

One day, in the midst of our daily work and casual chats in the office, an unexpected visitor arrived. As we continued with our tasks, this person innocently inquired about the baby. It was then that Mr. Wellington uttered the heart-wrenching words: the baby had passed away. The joy that filled the office quickly dissipated, leaving a heavy atmosphere.

The news deeply shook me, and I could not believe it at first. I thought it was a cruel joke, but soon realized the painful truth. The loss of the baby weighed heavily on my heart, and I found myself asking countless questions. How could Mr. Wellington come to work and engage with us, his students, while silently enduring such immense pain?

As I read the story shared by his wife, tears welled up in my eyes, for I began to understand the unimaginable pain she had experienced. It is in moments like these that I am reminded of the importance of organizations like the Seth Foundation. Kudos to the Seth Foundation for stepping up and addressing this pressing need. Your dedication to making a difference is truly inspiring. Keep up the amazing work!
